8 Nutritious  & Easy To Make Baby Food Ideas + Recipes

After 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding or formula feeding. What next? A lot of us get confused after the first phase when it’s time to introduce solids. Don’t worry, this will guide you.

 

This is just a guide, so you can modify it for suit you and your baby. I hope it helps.

1. Pears Puree

What you need

1. Pears

2. Raspberries

3. Water

Direction

Peel and steam or cook the pears, pour into a blender, add raspberries to it and blend with a little water. Pack into small containers and freeze if not used immediately. It can be fed to 7 months old babies and above.

 

2. Potato Puree

Potassium-filled potato puree makes a wonderful mix-in with a variety of vegetables.

What you need

1. Potato

2. Green Peas

3. Cooked shredded chicken

 

Direction

Peel, cut up the potato into small chunks and cook.

Steam your peas and set aside

Cook the chicken until very tender

Blend together. Freeze in small containers if not consumed immediately.

 

3. Banana Oatmeal Puree

Banana is Potassium-rich and adds creaminess and sweetness to your baby’s meals.

What you need

1. Ripe Banana

2. Baby Oat

3. Apple

Formula or Breast Milk

 

Direction

1. Peel and steam your apple (cut into small chunks)

2. Peel 2 bananas in put in the blender

3. Mix baby oat with water till you have a thick consistency

4. Add mixed formula or breast milk to it and blend.

 

4. Potato Beans Puree

What you need

1. Steamed potato

2. Steamed green beans

3. Shredded boiled chicken

4. Water

 

Direction

Steam your potato, and green beans separately. Pour into the blender and add your shredded chicken and water. Blend.

 

5. Avocado Puree

Avocados are rich in brain-boosting omega-3s and have a mild flavor and velvety texture that many babies love. Follow our easy step-by-step instructions to make this ideal first food for your baby.

What you need

1. Ripe avocado

2. Blue berries

3. Mango

4. Water

 

Direction

Put your avocado, blue berried and mango into the blender and add a little water. Blend together. Suitable for 9 months old babies.

 

Carrot Puree

Calcium-rich spinach makes a nutritious puree for older babies.

What you need

1. Steamed peeled apples

2. Steamed Peeled Carrots

3. Mango

4. Breast milk or formula

 

Direction

Peel and steam your apples and carrots. Pour into the blender and add your mixed formula or breast milk and mango. Blend together. Suitable for 11 months old babies.

6. Green Machine

What you need

1. Steamed spinach

2. Steamed potato

3. Steamed pears

4. Kiwi

5. Water and breast milk or formula

 

Direction

Steam your spinach, potato and pears separately and pour into your blender. Add kiwi and mixed formula/breastmilk and water. Blend. Suitable for 9 months old babies and older.

 

 

7. Cherry Puree

Antioxidant-rich cherries add a pleasing contrast to sweeter fruit purees. Follow our easy step-by-step instructions to learn how to puree fresh or frozen cherries.

What you need

1. Cherry

Direction

Wash ripe cherries and puree in a food processor or blender until smooth. Add water as needed to reach desired consistency.

8. Broccoli Puree

High in vitamins A and K, fiber-filled broccoli is healthy and filling

What you need

1. Broccoli

2. Water

Direction

Wash and cut your broccoli. Cook until tender then rinse in cool water. Puree  broccoli in a food processor or blender until smooth. Wait to give your baby broccoli until he is 8- to 10-months-old — this fiber-filled veggie can be rough on a very young baby’s digestive system and cause gas.
