Oha Soup Recipe – a delectable soup popular in the Eastern region of Nigeria. Ofe Oha is a top-notch Nigerian soup that comes highly recommended for you to try. This is a step-by-step guide but feel free to adjust the ingredients to your preference and availability. As long as you stick to the basics, it will be totally delicious! Let’s get into it.
Ingredients.
1. Crayfish
2. Dried catfish
3. Cow skin (ponmo)
4. Oziza leaves and seeds.
5. Fresh yellow and red pepper
6. Cameroon pepper
7. Stock fish
8. Palm nut (Banga) or palm oil
9. Meat
10. Cocoyam (thickener)
11. OHA Leaves
12. Ogiri

Method
1. Season your meat With salt, seasoning cubes and onion and boil till it is almost soft.
2. Boil the cocoyam till it is soft. Peel and pound or blend to get a soft paste.
3. Cook your palm nuts till tender, pound (add a little water if need be) and extract the juice, sieve and set aside. You can also replace this with palm oil.
4. Pour your peppers and oziza seeds into your blender, add some onion, and crayfish, add some water and blend.
5. Remove the oziza leaves from the stalk with your fingers not knife)
6. place the meat back on fire, pour in the stock fish and banga paste to it.
7. Add the ponmo, and smoked catfish at this point. Also pour in the blended pepper mix. Stir and taste for salt and seasoning.
8. Add the cameroon pepper and little ogiri to the soup pot.
9. Add the pounded cocoyam in bits till its fairly thick. Don’t make it too thick as the soup thickens more as it cools down.
10. Add a little crayfish powder and stir. Leave to cook for another 2-3 minutes.
11. Add your oziza leaves and OHA leaves to the pot and reduce the fire. Cook for about 2 minutes and turn off the cooker but leave the pot on the burner to steam.
