Pregnant? Here Are 7 Things To Start Doing Immediately
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Congratulations! You are pregnant! Doesn’t it feel like a miracle how tiny little parts of your baby are being formed right within your own body? It’s amazing! Now that you are pregnant, here are 5 things you need to start doing immediately for a smooth journey, delivery and postpartum.

1. Do take a multivitamin

You may not be in the mood for drugs but you have to find a way to take them. Device a method that works for you. That can be from dissolving the pills so it’s easier to swallow to taking single tablets prenatal vitamins. Your baby’s healthy development depends a lot on what you Eat and the drugs you use during pregnancy.

2. Stay Active

No heavy lifting but don’t be tempted to stay in one spot all day, except of course if you are on bed rest.

Regular  exercises like brisk walking  may help you combat many of the issues that arise during pregnancy, including:

  • insomnia
  • muscle pain
  • excessive weight gain
  • mood issues

3. Eat Healthy

Don’t fall for the “eating for two” scam. Eat enough and when you need to. Also try avoiding stuffing yourself with snacks with no nutritional value. Let every food or snack intake count.

4. Sleep on your side not your belly

Avoid putting pressure of your belly while you sleep. If you wake up on your back, try not to worry, just settle back to sleep on your side.

5. Take care of your mental health

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health during pregnancy. Surround yourself with things and people who bring you joy and help you relax.

6. Get Vaccinated

You’ll be offered vaccinations during pregnancy. Take them. Especially the flu shot.

7. Attend Antenatal

Even if it’s not your first baby, still go for antenatal. No 2 pregnancy are the same. Ensure your safety and that of your baby by attending your antenatal classes.
