Caring for your baby boy after circumcision is sensitive so as a mum, you need to know where to clean, how to clean and what to use.
- Clean the region multiple times a day, ideally two or three times with warm water and without soap.
- Apply a protective lubricant (your pediatrician will give you one after the procedure)
- Apply the same lubricant after every diaper change.
- Watch for signs of infection. A bit of redness is normal in the first few days/week. It should fade in about 2 weeks. See your doctor if it doesn’t.
The good news is, even though it is better to be aware, it is said that circumcision rarely goes wrong so don’t stress too much you already have a cranky baby in your hands.
