Sex Talk- What To Do If You Find Porn Your Teen’s Browsing History
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

You probably feel like washing your face with soap and sparkling clean water to be sure you are seeing things correctly, You are and here is what to do about it.

It is a nightmare. Teenagers can access porn more easily in this digital age and with access to internet. Even though every family has believes around sex and sexuality, You cannot avoid the conversation with your teenager. Here are some pointers that can help.

1. Prepare Your Talking Points

Your talking points will be determined by your child’s age, prior conversation on sex and his level of exposure. It may be an uncomfortable and awkward conversation which your child will want to end even before it starts. You’ll have to let them know curiosity is normal. Discuss sex, porn sex and even condoms.  These are conversations we can’t shy away from as parents.

2. Ask Questions and Engage

Avoid making this a lecture, instead make it a conversation. This is not the time to play blame games no matter how upset you are. That will only achieve one thing, send your child into hiding and secrecy. Ask questions to know how far gone they are, if they are already addicted and even how they got introduced to it. Also allow them ask you questions and answer calmly and directly.

3. Don’t move on

Never assume it is over the moment you have that first conversation with them. Keep tabs on what they are doing online. Become their friends so they can talk to you about anything, including sex.
