How To Manage Work – Life Balance As A New Parent
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Before I had my ‘Sonshine’, I had planned out how I was going to balance work and the home front. I had my eyes glued to a particular househelp (a story for another day) that was going to make life easier for me.
But that didn’t happen. I have had to struggle juggling work, managing the home and taking care of an infant. I must confess, it’s not easy. Sometimes I feel like if I do anything as small as moving a limb, I’ll break down. It’s honestly exhausting but here are a few tips that worked for me.

1. Ask for help when you need it. Time has taught me that I can’t do it all so I have cultivated the habit to ask my husband for help. Thankfully, that helps a bit.

2. Plan your time: Now that my son has started creche, it’s easier to plan my day without getting to my breaking point. For weekends, I plan my time and try to stick to it. It’s not the easiest thing to do in the world, but it sure keeps me sane.

3. Accept you can’t do it all. You are a super mum but even superheroes take time out to recharge (ask Clark Kent)

4. Do as much as you can and leave the rest. Work they say, work never ends. #NewMumsHub.

Mums, how have you been able to juggle work and family? Please share your tips in the comment.
