5 Tips To Prevent Post-Pregnancy Breast Sagging
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Whether the breasts will sag after breastfeeding or not depends on a lot of factors. Factors like the shape and size of the breasts before pregnancy, how much weight you gain, breast engorgement can also take a toll on the breast.

1. Right Breastfeeding Positions

Don’t lean over your baby to breastfeeding. This is a common mistake mothers make unknowingly while breastfeeding.

2. Use firm bras

In order to keep breasts perky after breastfeeding, you should start wearing supportive bras during pregnancy and breastfeeding.  Combating gravity is one of the best prevention methods. Some nursing bras don’t provide good support so when bra shopping, make sure you settle for firm bras.

3. Keep breast moisturized

Moisturizing the breasts improves skin’s elasticity and keeps it supple. Apply vitamin E oil, shea butter or cocoa butter to breasts at least 2 times a day.

4. Don’t gain too much weight during pregnancy

Pregnancy weight is almost unavoidable but don’t fall for the “eating for two myth”.

5. Take your post-pregnancy weight loss plan slowly

Making sure to drop the weight slowly prevents the breasts from sagging. If it took your body 9 months to get to this new state,  you need to give the skin time to adjust to all the changes it has and will be experiencing. Sudden weight loss can lead to sagging skin/breasts.

6. Drink plenty of water

Saggy breasts can also be prevented with the right diet. Following a clean diet rich in complex carbs, protein, healthy fats and a lot of water will provide the body with the necessary nutrients it needs to promote healthy skin and connective tissues. It’s key to drink water to prevent dehydration and dry skin.

7. Massage With Hot And Cold Water

While taking a shower, massage your breasts between hot and cold water. The hot water improves blood circulation while the cold water helps with toning and tightening of the skin. Always finish your shower with cold water.
